is seven miles south west of the city centre; between Altrincham Road, Brooklands Road, Sale Road and Moor Road. It's close to the suburban centres of Sale and Altrincham, with good access to Manchester Airport and the motorway network to other areas of south Manchester and Cheshire.
There are local shops on Wendover Road, and a large Tesco supermarket on Altrincham Road. Timperley village shopping centre is less than a mile away. The civic centre in the middle of Wythenshawe has more shopping, a food hall and a thriving market.
Brooklands is also close to Wythenshawe park - one of the biggest and best in the city. There's a horticultural centre, pets corner, crazy golf, horse riding, bowling greens, pitch and putt, tennis courts, an athletics track, football pitches and much more.

The Big Lunch
The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. Last year it happened on Sunday 3rd June and a record number of people took take part in the Jubilee celebrations. Why not be one of them this year?
A Big Lunch can be anything from a few neighbours getting together in the garden or on the street, to a full blown party with food, music and decoration that quite literally stops the traffic.
Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all kinds of communities across the UK and the best part of a million people get involved each year.
This year we will celebrate our fifth Big Lunch and recommend it to anyone.
